It is often said by newcomers and visiting vicars that St. Fremund’s is a friendly and welcoming church. This is an important part of our identity. Although the church is full on a Sunday we continue to see growth as a priority.

There are 46 people currently on St. Fremunds section of the Electoral Roll of the Parish of Dunstable.  Some of these have been faithful worshippers during the fifty-five year history of the church and live in the district. Some once lived in the district and continue to worship at the church although they have now moved away. Many of the more recent members of the congregation have come by way of their children and have themselves grown in faith. Some have been confirmed. Many now take an active part in the life and ministry of the church.

St. Fremunds also seeks to develop its spiritual life and to grow within the community. The work of the church is directed by the District Church Council whose members, along with groups within the congregation, undertake various aspects of church life. There is a good record of people coming together as a group to undertake specific tasks. The Church is at the heart of the community being home to Brownies and Guides, a flourishing Ladies Group, Handicraft Group, two Bowls Groups and a Slimming Club.

St Fremunds is a 1960s building which has been extended several times and benefits from an attached hall. At present the congregation are fundraising to commence an ambitious project to enhance the building and greatly improve the kitchen and facilities for the disabled. This it is hoped will benefit the regular hall users and improve the hall’s potential as a venue to let.
