 Our latest news…

We enjoyed a joint Christingle Service with the children and parents at St. Augustine’s Academy on January 8th, raising lots of money for The Children’s Society in the process.

The Family Service on January 25th was all about ‘New Beginnings’, and the Junior Choir began their New Year programme with a great performance of ‘Do you hear what I hear?’ The story song of a shepherd boy not afraid of telling the good news to the people around him, and how that news got passed on until even the King heard and shared it.

On Friday 6th February Years 1 and 2 had a Mock Wedding at St. Augustine’s Academy. Ryan and Riley-May were ‘married’ in front of their classmates, who promised to support them in their ‘marriage’. It was great fun and was a wonderful follow-up to the Baptism’s we had last term.

Our Games Night on Saturday 7th February saw about 25 members of our Church Family enjoying fun and games. In addition to the Table Tennis and Pool, we had Hopscotch, Floor Bowling and a variety of board games. The food was pretty good as well!

Charity Collections:
We have been supporting our neighbouring church, The Seventh Day Adventists’ Charity Project with Roma in Romania by collecting old, but cared-for shoes. The Church Office is almost over-run with the number we’ve had come in. The next shipment will be at the end of March, so any shoes will be gratefully received until then. We’re also collecting the plastic milk bottle tops for a local school who are saving them for charity. And we haven’t stopped collecting stamps for the Children’s Society. Last year local people helped make £2,000 for the charity through collecting old stamps.
