The Parish of Dunstable

Welcome to the web-site of the Church of England parish of Dunstable in Bedfordshire, UK.

Whatever the reason for your visit, you will be able to find something here of the activities, purpose, and history of the Anglican Church in this parish. Dunstable Parish is part of the Diocese of St. Albans and we are also part of Dunstable Churches Together.

There are four Anglican churches in the parish and each church has its own section on the website.

Our understanding of what we are about is summed up in our Statement of Purpose:

We are here as God’s people:

  • To offer praise and worship, to welcome all, and to love and care for each other
  • To celebrate and demonstrate God’s love in our communities and share the good news of Jesus Christ
  • To grow in Christian faith, and encourage others along their spiritual journey
  • To pray for our town and the wider world
  • To serve the communities of Dunstable in the name of Christ

Revd. Rachel Phillips was licensed as our new Team Rector and Vicar of the Priory Church on Thursday 31 October. Over 250 people welcomed Rachel in the service and celebrated Dunstable Parish having a full team for the first time in over a year.

WHAT IS CHURCH? Our parish churches offer a range of regular and special services from the simple to the sublime and we love them but there is more to a church than just worship. We walk, talk, sing, laugh, eat, drink, make, mend, marry, baptise, help and comfort each other and welcome strangers. Here is a short video.
Our groups welcome new faces to their activities, especially if you are not already in our church. You don’t have to be a regular worshiper. You don’t even have to say you are Christian. You just need to join in with others in friendship.
