Tea at the Ritz Priory Style

Once again, on July 1st, the Priory opened its doors to welcome about 80 people for afternoon tea – a feast for both the eyes and the stomach!

The church was totally transformed from its usual layout, with the rows of chairs replaced by tables and chairs, beautifully laid with cloths, flowers and extremely tasty food! Having been greeted with a glass of sparkling wine, served by two charming and very smart wine waiters, our guests were then served by an extremely efficient team of waitresses and waiter with a wonderful selection of sandwiches, scones, pastries and cakes – which were much appreciated by all those present.

Throughout the afternoon, we were entertained by Martin, playing a selection of very appropriate music on the piano and at the end, a much appreciated rendering of “A Nightingale sang in Berkley Square” by Alison.

Huge thanks go to the Social Committee for the enormous amount of work they put in to achieve this superb event and to the wonderful team of waiters and waitresses.

The prize draw was also held at the end of the afternoon.

This afternoon was so much enjoyed by all who came and as we also raised over £2000, it can be viewed as a most successful, enjoyable and worthwhile occasion.
