The yellow blooms of the spiky-leaved Winter Mahonia shine out in December in defiance of cold winds, ice and snow in welcome to the festival of the Christ Mass.

The Priory Christmas bazaar was held on the 1st day of December and made a contribution to church funds of something over £1800.  Well done to all workers and contributors and thank you to customers!

Parish Christmas cards are ready for distribution by those church members who have volunteered to distribute them around the parish in their area.  Apart from offering Christmas and New Year greetings the cards detail the Christmas services in all the four churches in the Priory parish.

On Saturday 8th December at 10 am a Service of the Blessing of the Crib will be held in the Priory.  Families are welcome and are encouraged to bring their own cribs for a blessing and to join in the preparation of Christingles for the Sunday service.

Luton Choral Society are to perform Handel’s “Messiah” in the Priory at 7 30 pm on Saturday 8th December.  Tickets at the door on the night.

The annual Christingle Service is at 9 15 am on Sunday 9th December in the Priory.

Monday 10th December at 7 30 pm  – A Christmas Carol in church.  An evening of Christmas readings and music.  Mince pies, coffee and mulled wine will be served.

  • Mothers Union meet for a “Christmas Miscellany” at 2 00 pm in the Priory Church hall  on Tuesday 11 December.
  • Priory Ladies have Christmas revels and a Dutch Supper on Wednesday 12th December at   8 pm.
  • Monday 19th December.  Carol singers meet at 7 00 pm at the Priory to sing around the neighbouring streets ending at Chews House for coffee and mince pies.
  • Priory Church post box is open on Sundays and Thursdays for church members and clergy use only.
  • Christmas flowers.  Contributions to the cost are welcome and these can be placed in the envelopes at the back of the church.
